Tycho Problem

All I get from Tycho is information about the wild lands. Isn't there something more to being there?

You have to do certain things in order. Make sure you've taken the plaster cast, sourberries and Wolf Ring to Sist the Rat. If you've already done that, Tycho should be able to talk about something else.
Once you've finished hearing about the Wild Lands, there should be an option reading 'discuss something else'.

Have taken the berries and such to sist. Have a walkthrough that someone wrote saying I should ask
"What have you observed from up here?
Ask him about the maps
What is a Lightcatcher?
What part broke?
Discuss something else"
However, the question about the lightcatcher never shows up. all I get to ask about is the wild lands and the other selections. I have followed this walkthrough in order.

H'm. I'll re-play that part of the game to see what happens. I'm pretty sure the question should always be there, and if so there's something wrong with your version, but I'll see if there's a different question you can ask that will get the same results.

I asked in the order you mentioned. Last thing I asked was "How much can be seen", then went to "discuss something else". The only selections I had to choose from after that was asking about the wild lands, asking about himself, asking about the maps, and being on their way. I just purchased this game the middle of this month from kagi store. Only thing I can think of is that I missed something even before the sour berries and plaster cast. Only difference I can think of is that when I went in the rat's tunnels I never encountered any riddles that needed answering. I hear there is supposed to be something like that in the tunnels somewhere on the way to sist's room. but i never found it.  Oh well, guess I'll just keep trying.

I didn't encounter a riddle either, and the game worked fine for me.

But, doesn't Tycho say 'I cannot see as much as I did when I had my lightcatcher'? Oh well, guess I'd better stop pestering you about that .

The only things I had in my inventory at that stage was the Wolf Ring and the bucket (which, unfortunately, was impossible to jettison). Try going to the Ferret Village and visiting the Glassmaster if you haven't yet. It may be that you can't offer to fix Tycho's lens unless you know where to go, though I doubt it.
In fact, I think you should try everything you possibly can. If that doesn't work for you, I'll post a list of the stuff I did and in which order.
It could be that there's a trigger somewhere.

Well, I replayed the game from the beginning. After I had the audience with the boar king, rather than going to the rats first, I went to Tycho's house. I asked the questions that mentioned the lightcatcher and got the question asking about it and what part needed repairing. However, didn't get the question talking about the trade no matter what I tried. Decided to go from there to the rat's cave and talk to sist. Then decided after that to go back to tycho's house, and ended up getting the trade question. So now my problem is solved. Thanks for all your help in trying to get this to work for me.

You've been reading a walkthru for the old DOS Floppy version, which had a question copy protection. It's now just a circular, empty room joining the two cave sections now, but it used to be used for copy-protect, where a rat would ask a question, which the answer was written in the instruction manual, and he would let u pass (If not he yells "IMPOSTER!" and you flee from the tunnels.).
