Some things you may notice on ITE:

Tycho Northpaw claims to have a very bad sense of smell.
Why? because the character's namesake (the 16th century Dutch astronomer, Tycho Brahe) lost his nose in a duel with a fellow Dutch nobleman. It's said that Tycho Brahe walked around with a prosthetic nose made of silver.

In The Dog Castle you can find a reference to the well-known poker-playing dogs, which was a must in this game :D

During the game, Rif looks at a pair of huge doors leading to the Sanctuary of the Orb, and comments on their "huge knockers" (large door-knockers). This is a reference to a famous quote from the movie Young Frankenstein:
"My god! Such huge knockers!"
"Well! Why thank you doktor!"

One of the tales that Rif tries to tell to Prince is a story about "three brothers".
This is a reference to another Dreamer's Guild game The Faery Tale Adventure.

The logo of the original game developer, The Dreamers Guild, appears as a stained-glass piece hanging in the ferret glassmaster's home. That actual piece of artwork is in the middle of this picture :)

I am not sure about the Wyrmkeep version, but in the original Dreamer's Guild floppy disk version of the game, a rat in the ornate Sundial Room would you questions, and the answers had to be found in the manual. This was the game's copy protection. And later on the in CD version the room was just empty.

If you have anymore to add, go for it :)

This is true and as an owner of the orginal game whoes lost the manual i have to say that this is quite annoying. And the rat lies, she asks whats the fox chieftess's name and she really knows so its a trick and you wouldnt know anyway on account of being a fox an then ther'd be no need for this at all.

Here's the copy protection answers.

I should note that we don't consider this information accurate. For starters, the current guildmaster is Sakka not Daggle. This whole copy protection thing was added very late in production of the floppy version of the game and answers weren't properly vetted.

And with permission from Wyrmkeep, we disabled this protection in ScummVM. You still may specify --copy-protection command line switch to enable it again.

Wow Itay, there are many things you said that I didn't notice for years!!! :o

I got some questions (they could fill a page) about weird ITE things. Most of them are very interesting and funny, I will post them in a new topic. I hope you like! Because I think you can answer some.
(I discovered some answers, but I will post all the questions anyway)
