Hello

Is it possible to obtain ITE with the german speech/dialouge files?

Or would the current english version work with replacing the files from a german version?

WyrmMaster

Wyrmkeep Entertainment don't sell the German version at this time.

I'm fairly sure that the German content will not work with the Wyrmkeep Entertainment release of the game.

Have you tried running the German content under ScummVM?

Laraine

No. Only got the Amiga version and that one is not supported by ScummVM.

WyrmMaster

I wasn't aware of that. You might be able to buy a copy of the German PC version on ebay.de.

Now, that is quite funny, the german voice files are in the german iPhone/iPod Touch version of ITE, but not yet on CD (or are they?)! How come they are in the App, I thought there were legal issues or so if I remember correctly?!

Is it possible to incorporate the german voice file onto the CD-Rom?

( By the way, I bought the german app in the app store and so far I´m very pleased!! :D  Seems like the German app sells better than the english one!? :/ )

WyrmMaster

No, the German language files are not on the Windows/Mac/Linux CD release. I am working on re-releasing the German version on those platforms, but I have no details yet.

I licensed the iPhone rights to iPhSoft. Questions about the iPhone version should go to them.

Cool, if you DO have some details share them please, I would happily buy it, thats exactly what I was waiting for and why I didn´t buy the CD yet! :D

Make it happen somehow WyrmMaster and you´ll have one happy customer here! :D

If I may suggest something (you probably already thought about it, I´m sure) put the german voices & text lines on the same CD as the english one, it saves costs and if someone wants to play in english, he can, and if someone wants to play in german, he can! So basicly make the german version an option that you can choose ingame or when you install it! :)

(You should place some ads for the game somewhere on Websites or so, you know, to spread the word a lil more! Just sayin! ;) )

WyrmMaster

The English and German voice-overs cannot fit on one CD. The German version may only be available by download anyway.

Has anyone tried to mix up the englisch version with the german speech and/or dialogues using ScummVM, yet? There is a possibility, that it'll be interpreted correctly. I had already even mixed the PC graphics with the Amiga sound in other classic adventures, which also had different  version numbers,  without any problems! (fortunately during childhood, one brother had an Amiga 4000 and the other one a DX4! *fg*) ScummVM partitially seems simply to access what ever it finds. But it had to deal with a complete different engine... anyway, still worth to give it a try... if someone has got the possibility to do so

I hope to have some time in June to complete work on German ITE, although maybe only for Windows initially. I still need to have a minimal German language web site.

I would like to use erbendererde.de, but I have been unable to contact the owner (who I believe is an ITE fan).

@WyrmMaster: Have you tried get in contact with Denic (central registry for all domains under the Top Level Domain .de)? On "erbendererde.de" there is only an "under construction" message. Maybe the owner isn't using it anymore.

There is also a law, which says, that you can get the domain under one of the following circumstances:
1. The domain owner isn't using it "properly" (e.g. just registered the domain to sell it or simply is not using it)
2. The domain is similar to your brand or a product of yours

I don't know how this is actually to be handled, but maybe (as I said) the Denic site might help you (at least to get in contact with the owner).

BTW: "Inherit the Earth" is quite hard to remember for native german speakers... ;)

Sorry, but this simply isn't true (for .de domains at least). Nobody is obliged to put any data on his/her domain. Apart from providing HTML pages, a domain may also be used just for email addresses or other purposes. It is as well absolutely legit to register a domain and park it for later use.

If the product name is a registered trademark in Germany and the domain owner doesn't have any rights or legitimate interest to it, a court may pass the judgement that the owner has to hand over the domain - but Denic cannot decide such things and definitly is the wrong contact person for such a case.
