Hi,
I recently just played Inherit the Earth after purchasing it from GoG (which I enjoyed by the way). I'm quite impressed by the devotion the developers had to the fans of this game. The webcomic, upgrading it so it can run on modern systems, the attempt of a sequel, etc. I was kind of interested in how it worked to secure the rights to the game. From what I understand, it was published by New World Computing which was bought out by 3DO. Did you buy the rights after their bankruptcy? I'm just curious since I think this fan/developer/game relationship is fairly unique. I know some Sierra developers have been working on their own projects, but with the IP owned by Activision, they really can't do anything with their creations. Anyway, I was just curious.
NWC had limited-time publishing rights. The game itself was always owned by the developer (The Dreamers Guild), and I purchased the rights from the defunct developer.
What's happening?? I seem to have something here.
